Example 1
Each Team Owner must hire 8 drivers for an event. Drivers listed in red are
considered "HOT". A "HOT" driver is worth double points for an event if
they finish inside of the top 10 of that event.
If we have Elliott Sadler listed as "HOT" for
the DODGE/SAVE MART 350 and he places 8th. NASCAR points for an 8th is 142 pts,
but since Elliott Sadler was "HOT", he was now worth 284 points for you. Had
Sadler placed outside of the top 10 in, say 15th. You would have received
his normal total of 118. So hiring a "HOT" driver can be big points if he
finishes top 10.
Example 2
For the next NASCAR event, THE PEPSI 400, you again must hire 8 drivers. But
they must be an entirely different 8 drivers. You cannot rehire the same
driver two races in a row. If you want to hire Jeff Gordon every race
possible, you are only allowed to have him every other event.
If you hire Jeff Gordon for the DODGE / SAVE MART 350, you cannot hire him again for the next race, THE PEPSI 400.
After that one race passes by, you may go back and hire Jeff
Gordon for following TROPICANA 400. Basically, you must allow
one race to pass before you attempt to rehire a driver again.
Example 3
Laps led: If one of your drivers leads a lap you will receive 5 bonus
points. If one of your drivers leads the most laps you will also receive 5
bonus points.
Say you have have Elliot Sadler and Jeff Gordon on your team. Elliot Sadler
leads 1 lap. You earn 5 bonus points. Jeff Gordon leads the most laps. You
earn 5 bonus points for 1 lap led by Gordon and 5 points for most laps led
by Gordon for a total of 10. However, "HOT" rules for double points also
apply to bonus points. So if your driver is listed as "HOT" and finishes in
the top 10, your bonus points will double as well.
Tie Breaker:
Should there be a tie in any week, except the last week, of the series the
winner will be the team that scores the most points in the following race.
Should there be a tie at the end of the series. We will go back one week to
determine which team had the highest point total and that team will be the
winner. Should there still be a tie at that time, we will go back another
week, until a winner is determined.
